Have you ever had a period of time, weeks, or sometimes months, where nothing goes the way you want it to?

It seems like everything is going against you; nothing is happening according to your plan. You may even start saying to yourself, “Why me? Why does this keep happening to me? It’s not fair. It’s not right.” You keep telling your stories, over and over and spiral down into a pit, where everything gets sadder and sadder.

Turn Those Sad Moments into Inspiration

I invite you to look at this in a little bit of a different direction.

What if what’s happening is happening for you, instead of to you?

There’s a great Coco Chanel quote, and she says, “Don’t spend time beating on a wall, hoping to transform it into a door.”

What she’s saying is that if it’s not there, and if it’s not happening smoothly or not opening up for you, then the answer must be somewhere else.

Now, what if everything is divinely directed?

What if you were actually getting signs that you should be doing something different? What if everything was managed for you, on a plan that was already set up specifically for your life? Would you feel more confident?

I know I do; that’s the way I live my life. I follow the signs. In fact, I surrender to them. When things show up in synchronicities or coincidences, I recognize it and step in.

When it’s not happening, when I’m pushing on that wall, and it’s not turning into a door, (which does happen to everyone, by the way, not just you), I stop and say to myself, “Is there something I need to learn about this?

Is this truly for me? Is there some divine direction here that is trying to tell me that I need to go a different way or take another path?

Is there an opportunity sitting here that I have just overlooked, or that I haven’t said yes to? Where have I hesitated? If so, what would happen if I said yes? What would be there for me then?”
