  • Are you trying to ‘Stealth Design’ your new client?

Are you trying to ‘Stealth Design’ your new client?

Are you afraid to tell your potential client how much a design fee will be because you think, “if they knew what this (room, floor, house) will cost they won’t hire me and I won’t get the job”?

Many do and that’s why they decide to practice Stealth Design.

What’s Stealth Design? It’s when you end up quoting a smaller design fee to get started and sneak up on them with the real cost, hoping the client will just keep buying, paying your time bills and not notice how much they are spending.

Stealth Designing is a bad for everyone! Nine times out of 10 it results with you not finishing the job because the client reaches their hidden budget ceiling. Even worse, the client cuts you out of decisions, starts buying stuff on their own and generally ruins your design.  The relationship ends with an unhappy client, a bad design, plus you don’t get to photograph.

Believing that your client won’t invest in you or their design job is usually rooted in an inherited family money value attitude. This kind of money belief doesn’t support your business goals of becoming a high-end designer, since old beliefs get in your way or even stop you from stepping into the good clients and great money that you deserve.

Because here’s the truth…good clients actually want to know what the design job will cost and are quite willing (and happy) to pay a professional for their services!

Start overcoming you old limiting money beliefs with these 3-steps:

Discover where these beliefs began, who you inherited them from and if they actually belong to you or you just unknowingly absorbed them as a child.

Next, take some time and ask yourself these 2 questions…

As a business entrepreneur, what money belief do I want to hold onto (people won’t pay what I want to charge OR good clients will pay for a great design)?
What money belief best serves me, my family, my goals and my business?”

Finally, once you let go of your old money beliefs and start creating new money beliefs based on abundance, you’ll start making offers for design services that attract good clients and pay you what you are worth!
