Let’s talk about budget mistakes.
There are some mistakes that you just can’t afford to make. No matter how much you might want to help people out, you can’t run a successful business if you’re losing money on jobs. Trying to do jobs for less at your own expense just doesn’t work.
If you’re honest with your clients from the very beginning about what things cost and what you can do within their budgets, everyone will be happier in the end!
I’m sharing everything I’ve learned (sometimes the hard way) about setting realistic budgets that work for your clients and still allow you to turn a profit.
Topics We Cover in This Episode:
- Jobs that you shouldn’t be taking on
- How to avoid running your business at a loss
- Ways to work with smaller budgets
- What you need to know before you say yes to a job
- Why you need to discuss costs upfront
- How to create a quote
- Why you need to get quotes in writing
- Setting clear boundaries about what you will be providing on a job
What budget mistakes are you making in your business? I hope this episode helps you identify and rectify them. Don’t worry, we’ve all been there! Making mistakes is part of the process, but I hope that by sharing what I know, I can make your life a little bit easier.
